3 Examples of Routine Service Available at Your Lincoln Dealership
Brake Pad Replacement
The brake pads fit into the brake calipers, which are positioned above each wheel rotor. When you apply the brakes, the calipers close on either side of the rotors, and the rough covering of the pads generates friction against the smooth rotors. This friction brings the wheels to a stop. The covering on a pad slowly wears down each time you brake, and once the material's thickness drops to 1/4", it needs to be changed.A pad will alert you if it's worn down, as the manufacturers install a metal spike in the pad's material. At 1/4" thickness, the spike becomes visible and scratches against the rotor each time you brake and produces a screeching noise. This doesn't damage the pad, but it's a very audible reminder that you need to visit us so we can replace it.
Battery Replacement
The battery provides the electrical charge that powers the starter so it can crank the engine. It also powers your Lincoln's systems, including the lights, alarm, and door locks, when the engine is switched off. A battery stores electricity as chemical energy, and over time, these chemicals slowly break down naturally due to chemical reactions, and the battery starts to weaken. One of the first signs your battery is failing is a delay in starting the engine. An older battery loses storage capacity, making it difficult for it to supply the necessary charge to crank the engine. We can test your battery with our computerized battery tester, which will quickly determine if it's failing. Battery replacement is fast, and you won't have to worry about that weak battery suddenly failing at the worst possible time.
Tire Replacement
Tires are subject to continual friction as you drive, and their tread will wear down. Worn tires don't grip the surface as securely as they once did, and the more worn a tire is, the greater the chance it could skid on a wet or muddy surface or develop a leak. We can extend tire life by rotating them and correcting any balance or alignment issues, but eventually even the best tires need to be changed. We stock 17 brand-name tires in the correct size for your Lincoln at very affordable prices. Tire replacement is relatively quick, and we adjust their balance to reduce wear and tear and provide improved traction.
